The "Joshua Tree" is a unique species of Yucca plant [Yucca brevifolia]. It is native to southwestern United States of California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada, where it is mostly confined to the Mojave Desert, many in Joshua Tree National Park and in Mojave National Preserve. This is the only place on earth that it grows.
